Welcome to theblackcat1236′s KPop Blog :D
Welcome to theblackcat1236′s KPop blog, where I rant and inform you about all things (that interest me within) KPop! I may be harsh, hypocritical, and inaccurate, but I really do try so if I slip up (especially on tagging) then feel free to call me out. Along the top, right under my header, you’ll see various pages.
- ABOUT! A little spheal about myself
- LOST! If you can’t find a post you thought I had
- ME! All my other public accounts
- REQUEST! If you want to request a review/mv explanation/rant/etc.
And my past/present headers sorted by artists’ last name. If there’s more than one person, it’s under the last name of the person I like more. I TAKE CREDIT FOR NONE OF THE ORIGINAL PHOTOS

Unemployment Solves Nothing: Block-B and Jenny Hyun
I don’t really know what the maturity level of people who stumble on my blog is, so this might be made private soon. And I probably won’t be responding to comments on this thing–I have a bad habit of going ad hominid.
Whenever any big issue pops up, I feel people tend to overreact. You probably already know what I’m going to talk about with the title, so let’s just start with Jenny Hyun.
She posted really racist tweets in response to someone criticizing Jeremy Lin. Nobody really knows who she is, but she’s a songwriter who’s written for big bands like SNSD and some other ones. They were really degrading of African Americans, really audacious, and basically she’s an inconsiderate, racist bigot. Obviously, people feel the sting, but this is one person’s opinion. She’s some random chick with a twitter account, there’s no need to get so bent out of shape about it. There are idiots everywhere. But do people just move on? No, they start a freaking petition.
What do you think getting her fired is going to freaking accomplish? Let’s say, for a moment, that she was an accountant. If an accountant had a twitter and posted those things would anyone care? No, you’d just rant and cuss about what an immature idiot she was and then move on. Why is being a songwriter any different? She’s nobody’s moral compass, she has literally no influence in people’s opinions on social justice, she just sits there all day and scrawls some notes and words down. Is firing her going to change her opinion? Is firing her going to make her stop degrading African Americans? Is firing her going to prove that the world is intolerant of racist jabs? Is firing her going to make the world a better place? No, firing her is going to do nothing but increase the unemployment rate. Actually no, the unemployment rate won’t even change because they’re just going to get someone else to take her place. There’s no point in giving someone all that attention for racist tweets.
Also recently, Block-B made some very inconsiderate jokes about the natural disaster in Thailand. I have no idea what the jokes were as the page is in Korean and I didn’t even bother giving Google translate a chance to fail, so I’m just going to assume they were more inappropriate than “I got you under my skin.” Nobody cares until NichKhun posts a tweet about the issue. He never actually mentions ZICO or Block-B in the tweet, but his fans deduced that he was talking about them and now they’re sending around a petition saying Block-B should disband. Block-B has posted apologizes, every member wrote one, on their Starcalls and the petition is still going around.
Once again, what is ‘firing’ Block-B going to accomplish? NOTHING.
No, I’m not defending or offending either Hyun or Block-B. I’m just another insignificant person with nothing but my opinion to offer–who am I to tell them what is morally ‘right’ or ‘wrong’? What I am saying though, is that this sudden outcry of attention for them is unwarranted and people need to stop thinking that unemployment will make this world a happier place. If their second-hand feelings of injustice, hurt, and pain will be healed with the completely irrelevant, random, not-based-on-skill-but-on-maudlin-fangirls firing of the offendor, than, in my insignificant opinon, you need to go look at your own moral compass.
Just to drive the point home:
Unemployment solves nothing.
On a side notes, Hottests seem to have an odd fascination with killing things.
JaeBeom called Korea ‘gay’ in a fit of outrage?
LET’S START A SUICIDE PETITION!
Block-B offended NichKhun oppa?
LET’S MAKE THEM DISBAND!
MV Explanation: Ailee’s “Heaven”
How do you pronounce that? Seriously. Moving on, this is the song I want to marry.
The story’s about her and her exboyfriend, the “ugly” dude as many call him with the long hair and facial hair. You see several “couple” scenes of them being cure, taking photos, etc. Then, there’s that part where she’s lying on the bed and he just leaves. That symbolizes hi death, as he’s now gone. There’s still shots of them together, but those are shots of her going through life alone and him being with her even after the death. Then, at the very end, her new boyfriend GiKwang shows up and dead boyfriend seems to approve of him.
It matches with the song, as the song is about thanking someone for teaching you “how to love in this cruel world.” Dead boyfriend taught her how to love, and she’ll remember him even after moving on.
Mindless Ramblings: Ailee’s “Heaven” (I Found Perfection)
So this is kind of basically perfect. I would like to marry this song. This girl down South married her car, this otaku in Japan married his pillow, so I’m pretty sure it should be legal for me to marry this song.
That is all. I’ll probably have a music video explanation after this.

Analysis: U-Kiss and “Tick Tack”
U-Kiss’ Tick Tack makes no sense to me, so I will go through and try to make sense of it.
Tonight I shall be here
(Tick Tack Tick Tack)
Tonight I shall be here
(Tick Tack Tick Tack)
Tonight, he’s going to be there. Wherever that is.
I only love you,
Those feelings haven’t changed, oh
He loves her. Let’s name “her” Madeline for convenience purposes.
We have our lovely memories
That we’ve piled up together but,
Because we can’t spend tomorrow like we did today,
I’m going to tell you a big lie
So they’re in a failing relationship, and today they were happy? They can’t be happy tomorrow, as their relationship will have failed by then, so he’s going to tell Madeline some lie.
Tonight, I shall be singing for you through the night (tonight)
I shall be turning on the broken light (tonight)
So that we can pierce through the night sky
Tonight (Tonight)
Tonight, oh
Woah (Tick Tack Tick Tack)
Woah (Tick Tack Tick Tack)
He’s going to keep Madeline all night singing and he’s going to turn on a broken light. The singing all night makes no sense so I won’t even try to make sense of that, but I’m assuming the “broken light” is their failed relationship. You’re supposed to fix the broken light or replace it, not turn it on -_- You’re going to light your house on fire.
I’m burdened with a crime inside my heart
That I want to resolve?
Tonight (Tonight)
Tonight
Apparently their relationship is failing because of some crime. I’m assuming the crime and the relationship have some connection, even though that seems to be connecting loose ends, because I like Kevin so I’m giving this the benefit of the doubt. He’s going to resolve this crime by breaking up with Madeline after setting their house on fire and keeping Madeline up all night with his singing.
Because you’re not thickheaded,
I was sure that I’d be exposed right away
He thought Madeline would find out about the crime sooner. I’m just going to assume he cheated on her.
We have no choice,
If we stay like this
We are falling down,
and you say what (say what what what)
Apparently the fact he cheated on Madeline and Madeline doesn’t know is hurting their relationship. And she is saying ” what what what what.” I am unsure as to whether not he’s told her yet, and still pretty confused.
We can’t cross over
This cruel wall we’ve encountered
(We must be separated, oh)
I’m telling bad lies for your sake
I’m telling lies
Okay, so I think I get it. He’s breaking up with her saying that he doesn’t love her anymore, and that’s the lie he’s telling her. The real reason is because he cheated on her and can’t work up the balls to say that, so he’s just ducking out of their relationship. He can’t continue being in a relationship with her because when they’re together he feels too guilty.
Tonight, I shall be singing for you through the night (tonight)
I shall be turning on the broken light (tonight)
So that we can pierce through the night sky
Tonight (Tonight)
Tonight, oh
Woah (Tick Tack Tick Tack)
Woah (Tick Tack Tick Tack)
I’m burdened with a crime
Inside my heart
That I want to resolve
Tonight (Tonight)
Tonight
What does “pierce through the night” have to do with anything o_O
(Rap)
Right now, your eyes
Are staring at me in this moment
Don’t cry, don’t cry, come on
You get hurt from my lies, you baby
When did I do that?
Yeah, and then I kissed you, oh
So he kisses her right before they break up. I’ve never understood that. Idiot, he should try to work it out, not “turn on the broken light.” What the heck. Why. Okay, what does turn on the broken light even mean? The broken light is their relationship, and he’s “turning it on.” But he’s dumping her. I am SOO CONFUSED.
(Tonight) I’ll never never never give
(Tonight) I’ll never never never give
(Tonight) I’ll never never never give
Tonight (Tonight) Tonight
GIVE WHAT?!?!?!?!
Yeah
Right now, I’m only being nice
After making you go through
Those difficult days
My pride
Hasn’t been hurt yet
You don’t know anything
I’m deceiving you
WHY IS HE DUMPING HER IF HE DOESN’T FEEL GUILTY ABOUT CHEATING?! THEY SHOULD’VE ENDED THE SONG BEFORE THEY RUINED EVERYTHING! I am so confused…
Tonight, I shall be singing for you through the night
I shall be turning on the broken light
WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!?!?!?!?!
I am done with this song. Done. It’s not even on my iTouch, so I don’t know how I can be more done with this song than I already am, but I’m done.
